UK Vogue March 2010 - Red Rosie

How stunning is this cover? This is one of the best UK Vogue covers I've seen in a while. I happen to have a bit of a girl crush on Rosie - who doesn't? - and this shot is just amazing. I did a little giddy smile when I opened the package.

Bad quality image, I know! I just had to take a snap on my phone. Time to run off to work now. I'll flick through tonight and post more. I think this could be a good issue...

Siri Tollerod by Tim Gutt in Star Signs

From the December 2010 edition of UK Vogue, styled by Kate Phelan, with set designs by Shona Heath. Siri is seriously one of my favourite models right now.
These are the kind of editorials that spurred me on to get into fashion and magazines. So dreamy, fun and inspiring. Spot your star sign...

Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista circa 1990

This was for a UK Vogue cover shoot, shot by Patrick Demarchelier

I love looking at old shoots and seeing how fashion trends really come back around - bra tops, shiny leggings, sequins, bodysuits and pvc skirts are some of the most notable trends at this time, all of which can be spotted in these images.

UK Vogue March 2010

I know the quality of these images isn't great but you get the idea...

PS. I can't believe we're already on the March issue of this year. Time is flying...

All images belong to me so please credit my blog if you chose to repost them. Thanks!

Glossy Delivery

The new Vogue and Glamour (UK) just came in the post...

I'm not particularly excited by either of these covers, in all honesty. Though I am warming to the Chanel clogs, weirdly. I have a big craving for a pair of chunky wooden heeled shoes/sandals for the summer, so this probably has something to do with it.

Anyway, I'll flick through and post any photoshoots if I find some that I reallllly like.

Image is my own so please credit my blog if reposted. Thanks!

UK Vogue & Glamour - The December Issues

The new Vogue cover got me excited as soon as I opened it up fresh from the letterbox. The cover is beautiful! I love the Lara Stone/Mario Testino shoot. I'm yet to read the article but I'm looking forward to it.

There is also a feature which I adore and it fits in with this blog so well. It's called 'Vogue's 30 Ultimate Fashion Adventures'...

Some of my favourites include:

  • Be the inspiration for a dress...
  • Wear a Tiara
  • Own a Chanel handbag
  • Wear head-to-toe Gareth Pugh when meeting your boyfriends parents
  • Walk barefoot across Venice's Piazza San Marco at midnight with a full-skirted silk Prada dress billowing around you
  • Revel in the drama of a Dior Couture show in Paris
  • Gallop away in a Balenciaga riding hat

Okay, I had to stop myself there... they are so dead on and dreamy...

Of course I had to throw in the essential Ed Westwick posing sesh!

The Gossip Girl cast are truly unstoppable. Gracing the cover of Glamour is my favourite starlet Leighton Meester. I love the Bardot hair they gave her for the feature with the cute 60's dresses - They really suit her. I feel that 'Blair's' style isn't quite so inspiring at the minute, not as much as in previous seasons, so this was refreshing...

I'm also in love with the 'Put a Spin on Cosy' story. The colours and the soft knits are making me crave cute winter-wear and I will be definitely pulling my grey wooly tights back out.

Images are all my own, so please credit my blog if you use them. Thanks! :)

LFW - the rest

Today was exciting!

I didn't bother trying to get into any shows but I saw Anna Wintour, Lara Stone, Freja Beha Erichsen and Erin O'Connor - the latter for the millionth time over the past few weeks - within metres of where I was standing (people watching is the best at fashion week) along with the whole UK Vogue and Glamour team and many other infamous fashion journalists, all arriving at Somerset House for the Jaeger show.

My papparazi skills are pretty shocking but I managed to get a few snaps.

This is Freja, my camera didn't have time to adjust to the light, or lack thereof?

Jason Gardiner? I didn't know either...

Oh yeah, I pearled out my Blackberry Pearl.

All images quite obviously taken by me - awful haha

Catch Up...

Well, not that there's much to catch up on. I may have been a bit out of the loop but there doesn't seem to be much happening right now in the wonderful world of fashion. This leads to a lack of inspiration.

However, for a change, I enjoyed reading the new Vogue today. Despite being a subscriber, I rarely make my way through the whole issue lately. This month's issue is allll about bodies. Cue envy-inducing shoots with a naked Natalia Vodianova (no way has she had 3 kids?!) and a beautifully busty Lara Stone. Note to self: Invest in a scanner!
I found Christa D'Souza's article on her obsessive weight control very interesting to read. Lately I've been getting quite strict with my food* (if we ignore todays unusual binge) and I generally dont tend to crave chocolate anymore.
*Not in a concern-raising way may I add.
Reading about other people's eating habits interests me for some reason...
Anyways, if you're into all that then it's a good issue to buy if you dont plan to already. I'm always amazed at how large their word counts must be! Articles going on for pages and pages...

Oh and news on the Glamour placement. I was invited a few months back to start in June, but they needed extra help in the office last week so called me in to lend a hand. I was in the fashion closet most of the day and almost cried at the wall full of (mostly) Louboutins. And a floor covered in Chanel jewellery. I'm so excited to go back - everyone there is soooo so lovely! More than I could've possibly imagined. I know that sounds bad, but I watched The Devil Wears Prada for the millionth time a few nights before and got the nerves/fear of nasty fashion people?

Anyhow, I'm off to read more blogs for inspiration/catch up on the new Gossip Girl... This episode looks so good I think I may DIE! (Also been watching the Rachel Zoe Project, quite obviously...)
Ciaoo :) x

Jenny, is that you??

Choppy bleach blonde hair + 'rebellious' clothing

Sulky baby face + dark eyes

The annoying version of Jenny Humphrey.

Hmm, I actually like Karlie and Sasha a lot, but not when they equal this... haha
