Ping Hue by Pamela Hanson

Shot for UK Glamour's July 2011 issue and styled by Sarah Clark, Ciao Bella! has got me prematurely ready for the autumn. Set in one of my favourite cities - Rome - the cute knits, prints, socks and fun colours and accessories have me lusting after every outfit. Glamour has a habit of doing this to me with their editorials...

Carine Roitfeld Resigns from Vogue Paris

French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld has announced that in January she will be leaving the magazine, where she has held her position for ten years.
Read more here.
It will be sad to see this iconic influence leave the magazine, but I'm also intrigued to see who will be replacing her.
I hope she continues to do plenty of freelance work. I heart Carine!

Justin Wu and Tommy Ton - VS Angels Just Wanna Have Fun!

I love this!
I also was blissfully unaware that Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou styled the show. I watched a clip a few weeks back of the casting for the show, and thought to myself... 'Hmm, one of those ladies on the panel looks a lot like Sophia...' and then carried on thinking nothing of it.
Anyway, as if being Harper's UK's Fashion Director and ed of 10 Mag wasn't enough, she's now also styled a VS fashion show - serious career envy, but very inspiring.

Siri Tollerod by Tim Gutt in Star Signs

From the December 2010 edition of UK Vogue, styled by Kate Phelan, with set designs by Shona Heath. Siri is seriously one of my favourite models right now.
These are the kind of editorials that spurred me on to get into fashion and magazines. So dreamy, fun and inspiring. Spot your star sign...

A lesson in style, Via Christine Centenera

I started gathering up images and subscribed to Christine's tfs thread some time ago now, but never got round to posting all the images and whilst my laptop was busy dying, Tommy Ton did a little profile on her here.
Some beautiful detail shots, it's a must visit!
Before I overwhelm you with this beaut's style in pictures, a little introduction.
Chrsitine Centenera is an Aussie Fashion Editor currently styling the pages of Australian Harper's Bazaar. She's also recently appeared as a guest judge on Australia's Next Top Model, and is dating designer Josh Goot.
She also has legs to die for and the perfect hair and skin tone. Yes, some people do just have it all...

Gossip Girl goes to Paris

Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come. Blake Lively and Leighton Meester have been snapped shooting next season's Gossip Girl in Paris, and by the looks of things the wardrobe department are finally upping their game and giving us fun creative outfits to pore over again. Let's hope this also means that some good gripping story lines are to come - we don't want another 'The OC' style crash and burn forced ending!

Stylin Dreamin

I felt all inspired to create some little outfits after a trip to net-a-porter, a regular occurance when I'm low on funds, ironically enough. It's probably the worst, most depressing site to go on, but all of their beautiful clothes and accessories still manage to brighten up my day.

It's pretty clear when you look at the pieces I've put together that I have a thing both for skirts and bright accessories. They always have so much more appeal when they're designer - on the high street many of these could look tacky and I would never dream of buying them.

Recommended Read

One of the best presents I recieved this Christmas?

The TeenVogue Handbook.

As soon as I found out a release date I requested it for Christmas and have been eager to read it since. Now I finally have my shiny copy and have read my way through the Editors and Stylists sections - both areas I'm dying to get into.

The book also has sections on Designers, Models, Photographers and Beauty, which I will also read through as any advice in this industry is useful.

The sections I have read so far have been very inspiring. Most of the advice is stuff I have probably read elsewhere, but this only being due to my crazed research efforts online whilst looking for internships and how to succeed, etc.

Either way, it has given me the kick up the tush I needed to get back into the swing of things and start harassing the industry again for more opportunities.

Definitely a must have if you're considering any of these professions, with some great images included and breakdowns of a typical day, as well as how they all got to where they are today and their all important advice for budding fashion stars.

Oh dear...

I haven't posted in SO long! I just seem to have deadline after deadline at the minute, and I visited my boyfriend for a long weekend too, so I've neglected this poor little blog. I must get into the habit of fitting this in.
Anyway, I'm feeling a little uninspired by the A/W shows, so maybe i'll wait a bit before I reference them on my blog again. I'm just getting worked up for the summer and wearing pretty colourful dresses, so I'm not in the frame of mind to accept all the grays, blacks and navys floating around and merging into one dark wooly coat.

I'm posting the final 3 images from the photoshoot that my friend Vicky and I shot and styled for a university project. In the end we decided it best suited Plastique magazine...

The theme is underwear as outerwear - a trend you may have noticed me blog about previously.
MASSIVE THANK YOU to Emily ('Between Peace & Happiness'-blog), our dear friend, who insanely agreed to model in lingerie at midnight in the freezing cold. We love you for it, and you look amazing! I'm sure everyone will agree...

To finish off, I have awesome news: I have bagged myself a placement at my number one dream magazine that I've always wanted to work for - Glamour! Ahhhh! It's only a month long but I am so excited. I can't actually believe it will my first placement at a magazine, and at my favourite one too. My love for them clearly came through very well in the cover letter, which I put my heart and soul into. Just as I was about to give up on the idea of getting a placement at a magazine this summer as well...

Hope everyone is well x
