Balenciaga + Miss Kerr

MK has returned to the runway for Balenciaga. She looks so different doing high fashion, no gloss and glamour and her hair scraped back.

Overall the show appeared have more of a Spring theme than a winter theme, but I'm still loving pastels so I don't have a problem with this.

From reading Colin McDowell's commentary on the shows so far I think he'll be pretty disappointed to see more peplum style waists showing up here. Nothing revolutionary but none of the seasons shows have given anything all too spectacular.

Crushing on the shoes, however...

and Miranda leaving the show - hot boots.

Elie Saab Couture - Spring 2010

I love many different designers for many different reason. With Galliano, for example, I love the high impact drama and colour of his creations and shows. I love Elie Saab the same way I love Marchesa - beautiful gowns.

He doesn't try to challenge 'fashion' and come up with crazy, unwearable garments for the sake of being 'out there'. Everyone seems to be so obsessed with new, new, new lately that they forget the importance of good quality dress making and clothes that last yet still make a strong impact.
Saab is another designer to beautifully interpret the Spring trend of pastels into Haute Couture, with floaty chiffons, delicate beading and floral detailling. I am also in love with the natural beauty of the hair and make-up. I think this may be a style I'll be trying out for myself come summer time.

Chanel Couture - Spring 2010

It looks as though Mr. Lagerfeld may have been inspired by the Laduree macaroon colour palette for his Spring Couture collection, with the trend for pastels still going strong and translating into beauty - see beautiful big bows and cheeky coloured streaks.

Speaking of beauty, note the silver mirrored nail polish similar to the gold one they did a few seasons back, mentioned here.

After searching and searching for the gold plated varnish and no hope, I did manage to find an almost identical one in Avon (well my Mum did after I stressed how much I needed this nail varnish).

Enjoy the show...
