I started gathering up images and subscribed to Christine's tfs thread some time ago now, but never got round to posting all the images and whilst my laptop was busy dying, Tommy Ton did a little profile on her here.

Chrsitine Centenera is an Aussie Fashion Editor currently styling the pages of Australian Harper's Bazaar. She's also recently appeared as a guest judge on Australia's Next Top Model, and is dating designer Josh Goot.

Balenciaga + Miss Kerr

MK has returned to the runway for Balenciaga. She looks so different doing high fashion, no gloss and glamour and her hair scraped back.

Overall the show appeared have more of a Spring theme than a winter theme, but I'm still loving pastels so I don't have a problem with this.

From reading Colin McDowell's commentary on the shows so far I think he'll be pretty disappointed to see more peplum style waists showing up here. Nothing revolutionary but none of the seasons shows have given anything all too spectacular.

I feel as though I am constantly lugging a suitcase around with me, though I probably don't look at cool as the models at Moschino Cheap & Chic.

VS Models do Milan

Exciting news for Miranda Kerr fans!

Yesterday she turned heads once again as she walked the runway for Prada during Milan fashion week. Last year people were shocked to see her making an appearance on the Balenciaga runway. Things are looking good for MK as far as moving into high fashion from commercial goes.

Also unexpectedly joining her on the runway were fellow Victoria's Secret models Allesandra Ambrosio and Doutzen Kroes.

Doutzen appears to be a lot curvier than the majority of the models used in the show - I am by no means calling her fat, we've all seen her in her smalls there is no doubt her body is to die for - it can only be seen as a positive step forward for the health of models and the image reflected from the shows surely?

What are your opinions on the VS models merging into high fashion shows? Do they fit the bill?

The Future of Fashion?

I went onto my MySpace account recently for the first time in months and re-read everything I'd put on my profile - I can rant for England, let's just say that - and also looked at the images I used on my 'about me' and 'interests' sections. This Chanel A/W '08 image was the main picture featured on my profile.

I hadn't seen this in ages, and it just reminded me of the true magic of fashion week. Yes there are plenty of dreary same-y shows to trawl through, but it's all worth it for gems like this.

I have read numerous articles in the past surrounding Fashion Month and the concept of seasons, and many industry professionals seem to be questioning whether the whole thing really works anymore.

The Spring/Summer shows for 2010 took place before Autumn/Winter '09 weather even had a chance to kick in, allowing high street brands to imitate the collections before the designers can even get them in-store come Spring season.

There is also the cost factor of putting on these big shows. With so much content going online, anyone can view images from the shows several hours after they happen across the world - no invite neccessary - and some designers such as McQueen are broadcasting them live online. So is it really ideal for fashionistas to jet around the world, almost killing themselves trying to fit in every show schedule combined with jet lag whilst still looking inspired and glamorous?

Very good example of my ability to rant there, but I'm interested in hearing other people's opinions as I will be writing a feature based on this topic and I'm a little torn, as the fantasy set-up of some of the shows is what is most inspiring.

Round Up #1 - Go Grunge?

The gloomy economic climate has certainly been reflected in the latest Autumn/Winter '09 collections. Gothic and grunge seems to be the big 'trend' to invest in, going from New York Fashion Week and the latest from the London shows. It seems Ioannisdimitrousis definitely knows what he's doing.
