Ready for the Fall

I've made some more Polyvore sets over the past weeks weeks that reflect the great British Summer. I'm kind of fortunate now that I've been stocking up on knitwear for months, as apparently I need it much sooner than expected.
I always find that as the temperature drops and the coat gets thrown on top of every outfit, I start lacking effort with the way I pair things together, so hopefully keeping this mood board habit up will keep me feeling inspired.

My Polyvore page can be found here.

Craving Collarless Jackets

Isabel Marant jackets have been the objects of my affection for some time, but she seems to have caused a chain reaction and I'm now seeing them everywhere. I'm yet to find a high street version worth buying yet, though.

Embellished, navy & Cream: Isabel Marant.
Black & Grey: DKNY.

The Perfect Cream Blouse

Yes, another thing I am in search of.

When I was trawling through Net-a-porter in preparation for this post the other day I spotted a few, but they're completely out of my student price range.

It's something I'm quite fussy with as they can very easily look cheap and tacky, which is probably why I was so drawn to these higher quality garments.

They're perfect for the transition from Winter to Spring (even if Spring seems impossible right now) going perfectly with a good fitting pair of jeans, and trench coats for chillier or rainy days.

Georgette ruffle blouse (£255) Diane Von Furstenburg, Cutout leather sandals (£525) Burberry Prorsum, Kex smooth skinny jeans (£180) Acne, Propaganda cotton-blend mac (£355) Vivienne Westwood.

Cotswolds silk-chiffon tunic (£235) Leaves of Grass, Fantasme trench coat (£470) Paul & Joe, The Super Slouch skinny jeans (£250) Current/Elliott, Caparetto leather ballerina flats (£305) Chloe.

Silk-chiffon pussybow blouse (£740) Oscar de la Renta, Cotton pleated skirt trench (£850) Burberry, Bardot high-waist skinny jeans (£195) J Brand, Titi 120 Panama straw pumps (£470) Christian Louboutin.

I did finally tick the maxi dress off my wishlist, however. I purchased a jersey black number about a month ago, and most recently a multi-coloured printed maxi in the sale for when the sun comes out. I will post pictures when it becomes more appropriate to wear these outfits. The black one is more practical, but I haven't stepped out without my boots on in forever due to the arctic temperatures taking over the UK.

Stylin Dreamin

I felt all inspired to create some little outfits after a trip to net-a-porter, a regular occurance when I'm low on funds, ironically enough. It's probably the worst, most depressing site to go on, but all of their beautiful clothes and accessories still manage to brighten up my day.

It's pretty clear when you look at the pieces I've put together that I have a thing both for skirts and bright accessories. They always have so much more appeal when they're designer - on the high street many of these could look tacky and I would never dream of buying them.

Winter Wardrobe Plan

Here is a little mood board I made to help put all my ideas and bits and bobs together and see what gaps I should fill ready for winter.

Winter Wardrobe Mood Board
I already have two biker jackets, and these two skirts - splashes of colour are essential in the dull winter - and I have a pink chunky knit scarf as well as some flat suede thigh high boots from Office. I'm buying this coat this weekend (hello payday) so I'm getting there

-
I'm well into the winter spirit now and just want this random sun/rain weather to make up its mind or go away.

-
Also, I'm hoping to make a designer investment come Christmas - my only current designer item, besides cosmetics, is a Luella purse from a sample sale. Maybe a cute Marc or Chanel 'wear with anything' bangle?

-
This is a very self indulgent post I know, I'd just like opinions on my winter wardrobe plan...

New addiction

I have noticed use of Polyvore on other people's blogs but always forgot the name when I wanted to give it a go. I have finally registered and making little outfit mood boards could become a very time consuming habit.
This is my first one. I saw the skirt and cried a little inside - I have to get my paws on it. I based the outfit around the skirt with a modern take on a classic Chanel theme.

I can't work out how to use their 'links' to post the sets to my blog, so I had to print screen this. Does anyone know how it works? Without posting a load of random html after the image...

I'm regretting the choice of shoe slightly now but nevermind, plenty more play around time tomorrow.

Wall Post

I have posted pictures of my 'magazine wall' before, but I have since moved and created a new one. I love to just sit and admire the images at times, and they can even help inspire my outifit choice or shopping decisions some days. I tried to create a 'dreamy' side and a more 'edgy' side. Chiffon vs studs, pink vs black etc.

I still have more wall to fill, but I really hate cutting my magazines up so it's very hard to find images I love enough to put on my wall, in magazines I don't mind cutting up. Lula would be plastered all over if I had a scanner - there's no way I'm cutting those babies up.
